Sharon Primary School students who took part in the annual Inter-house athletic ompetition ran their hearts out at Lear’s pasture in St Michael, today.
On a nice sunny day one house stood like a beacon defeating the others after a fiercely contested meet.
Athletes gave their all from start to finish, with some barely making it to the finish line, others nursing body aches, while some who were not in winner’s row, broke down in tears.
King House (yellow) fought hard to keep the lead they came into the finals with.
The yellow team was led by an outstanding performance by Brandon Hoyte who won the Boys Under 13 100m, 200m, 400m and two relays. Last year’s champions Sobers House (red) came in a close second losing by only two points. Other races that made up the day’s events were the egg and spoon, wheel barrel and hurdles.
At the end of the children’s battle on track the parents then had their time to shine.
The final standings for the day were: first King House (yellow), Sobers House (red), third Goomes (blue) and fourth Moore (green).
