Tributes for Dame Olga

Tributes are already pouring in for Dame Olga Lopes-Seale who died this morning at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Dame Olga, affectionately known as Aunty Olga, died this morning around 5:30.
She was a social and community activist who worked with the less fortunate in society.
The Nation’s online readers were quick to post their tributes after the news broke on NATIONNews.com.

Lynette Mayers:  “Her life here was certainly not in vain. My condolences to her immediate family and the many families she touched. May she rest in peace.
Troy Hoyte: “Aunty Olga was a wonderful humanitarian , a kind person and pure at heart. May she rest in peace”.
Matt Jordan: “Aunty Olga was a compassionate and unselfish human being. Barbados and the community was blessed to have this wonderful lady contribute so much guidance to the young people of this country. Condolences to her family and may she rest in peace”.
Shauntelle Best: “My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the late Dame Olga Lopes-Seale. I knew her personally and she was a respectable individual. May her soul be at rest with the Lord. She touched the lives of many”.
Dame Olga was a broadcaster and worked at the Barbados Rediffusion Company Limited (now Starcom Network) for many years. She was also known for her Children’s Party broadcast every Saturday morning.
Originally from Guyana, Dame Olga migrated to Barbados with her husband Dick Seale.
Dame Olga celebrated her 92nd birthday on December 26.
