ARE RIHANNA and her ex-boyfriend planning to get together again?
Well, almost two years after Chris Brown beat her, leaving her bruised and battered, Rihanna wants an easing of the court-imposed restraining order, which kept him from getting close to her.
The Barbados-born pop star has reportedly asked a California judge to modify the order, just as long as Brown didn’t harass or annoy her, according to several sections of the United States celebrity Press, including Pop Eater and TMZ.
Under the plan being discussed by attorneys for Brown and Rihanna and the court, the singers could be in touch but he couldn’t pressure her for anything and he would remain on probation for another three years. The court is studying the requests but has so far not made a ruling.
It was in 2009 that Brown, then Rihanna’s lover, beat her while the two were in an automobile. He was subsequently convicted of felony assault for domestic assault.
The move to soften the order was started by Brown after he had completed his court-ordered community service and in the wake of an exemplary report by his probation officer.
“Out of thousands of probationers, no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have, and I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you,” the judge who imposed the order told Brown.
However, because he didn’t rule on the request, neither Brown nor Rihanna would be able to get close during this weekend’s Grammy Awards ceremony in California.
Brown has said that the existing order prevents them from even attending the same show.“I have enough self-respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this [domestic violence] class, Brown said on Twitter. “Boys run away from their mistakes. Men learn from them.”
Rihanna would first have to approve the terms of any modification.
