FLYING FISH & COU COU: When talk is not cheap

IT?SEEMS the ability to talk as much as you want in a certain place without fear or favour may have enabled one person to get away with saying some shocking things.
Those things are so astounding that certain prominent people are gnashing their teeth in anger that they can’t act on what was said.
In fact, they are saying, were those statements made in any other place, there would have been reaction post-haste.
What makes the statements interesting, though, is not who they come from, but where.
From what Cou Cou has heard, the “vocalist” has an inside track on such information, and this is not because he is aware of that work.
Somehow we suspect this is not the end of this matter.
Stay tuned.

Payback time
It may seem a long time ago, but once old wounds don’t heal, it seems they will fester.
Maybe that’s why a certain one-time big-up is determined to pay back his one-time master for not treating him the way he felt he should have been treated a few years ago.
And he is not sending anyone to deliver that message.
Oh no! This guy is doing the job himself.
And he is not alone. He is marshalling a number of like-minded people to help him.
In fact, he has told whoever wants to listen: “He owes me big time and I will deal with it independently. I want no help.”

Problem-plagued
From the time this individual was put at a certain school, there was noise in the camp.
The principal reason for the anger then was that this particular individual was known to support the other side.
Now, what is of even more concern is that this person is harassing students and teachers so much since they were given the pick that they have chalked up more infringements than any wayward student.
The problem is no one is willing to tell any tales out of school.

One-man band?
Have you been in St John or St George recently?
Are you aware that two new plaques have been unveiled at two sporting institutions and they bear only one name?
Is it that a one-man band plays all alone? Or is it a gender issue?
Whatever the case, the boss man is not impressed and the name bearer is being asked to educate the rest of the team about the reason behind the missing names.

Shoe on other foot
It was only a few weeks ago that a certain big-up lambasted his subordinates for not doing their jobs.
A young man himself, when considering the ages of those who sit next to him at a certain office, he got the support of the public and colleagues alike for the lashes he gave at that time.
But now the shoe is on the other foot. Earlier this week he was supposed to meet with a certain young brigade and never turned up or even gave an explanation.
And don’t talk about being better late than sorry. This is certainly no reason to be late every time.

One out of the race
What was expected to be a three-horse race for pole position in a certain Christ Church riding may now see only two people entering the gates.
That’s because a certain law-abiding citizen is having second thoughts about throwing his hat in the ring.
Cou Cou understands that the experienced racehorse has the edge going into the race, but nothing is certain in this calendar year.
