There has been an increasing interest in high-end properties in Barbados, especially from Europeans, despite the ongoing global economic crisis.
Director of offices in London and Europe for Christie’s International Real Estate, Giles Hannah, said the real estate market in Barbados was the best in the region.
Hannah was speaking at an inaugural Caribbean Affiliates strategy meeting and property exhibition at the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre on Friday.
“Barbados is a key market for the United Kingdom. Eighty per cent of the buyers are from the UK, and we are seeing a high number of very wealthy clients of Christie’s wanting to purchase properties in Barbados,” he said. (MM)
