BUSINESSWOMAN Margo Durant-Callender will be carrying the Barbados Labour Party’s challenge to Minister of Sport Stephen Lashley in the Christ Church West Central constituency in the next general election.
Last night Durant-Callender, 51, defeated former policeman Paul Hackett by 30 votes to two during the nomination at Deighton Griffith Secondary School to choose a candidate to contest the seat.
Eyebrows were raised after the results were announced since Hackett had a nominator, a seconder and was eligible to vote for himself but received only two votes.
No one nominated the third candidate and former MP for the constituency Joseph Edghill.
Here, Durant-Callender (centre) is congratulated by supporters. (WG)
