Kingstown, St Vincent – Investigators probing the crash landing of a Venezuela-registered Beach King aircraft over the weekend, believe that the pilots may have gotten their airports mixed up.
None of the eight people, including six passengers, were injured when the aircraft broke through a fence at the airport in Clifton.
Director of Airports, Corsel Robertson told the state-owned National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) that the pilots had indicated in initial interviews that they thought they were landing at the Canouan Airport.
Meanwhile, a four-member investigative team from the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) arrived there on Sunday to determine what caused the accident. (CMC)
