The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has started its own initial investigations into recent reports of alleged acts of molestation between some primary school children.
In a statement today, Acting Chief Education Officer, Laurie King said the acts, which were alleged to have taken place at two schools, were already brought to the attention of the ministry.
He said: “The alleged acts are now being investigated by the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Ministry is also conducting its own investigations. So far, we have received reports from the principals of both schools and we are working with the relevant agencies with a view to having these matters resolved.”
King assured that officers from the Nursery and Primary section of the Ministry, as well as the Student Services department were providing the necessary assistance to the schools. (PR)
