It is an undeniable fact that Barbados is doing well in the face of the ongoing global economic recession, says Government Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner.
Speaking earlier today in the Senate during debate on the Appropriation Bill 2011, Sandiford-Garner said that in spite of certain constraints, the Government’s reserves were good, the country had not defaulted on any of its international obligations, and growth in the economy was predicted even if some considered it negligible.
The parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Health said the Barbados Labour Party never had to manage the country in the type of recessionary times gripping the world. (WG)
