FORMER BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY (BLP) Cabinet minister Rommell Marshall says he will do everything in his power to ensure that Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner wins the St Andrew seat in the next general election.
Speaking at a DLP branch meeting at the Alleyne School last night, Marshall said he would be canvassing St Andrew with Sandiford-Garner in an effort to oust incumbent representative, George Payne.
To loud applause from those present, he sang Sandiford-Garner’s praises and said it was about time St Andrew had a “real representative”.
Marshall also stated that if asked, he was willing to run on a DLP ticket in the neighbouring St Joseph parish in the next election, but was swift to add that if not selected, he intended to throw his support behind whomever the DLP’s constituency branch chose to contest the seat.
