Counsellor?at Verdun House, Christopher Hanschell took his role to another level yesterday by providing sound advice to Providence Charles,?a residential recovering addict who was in the process of moving out of the facility and into a small house he was building at The Belle, St Michael.
Charles was one of several squatters in the area who received enforcement notices (below right) last week from the Town and Country Planning Department, to remove the illegal structures within 28 days.
Hanschell drove him to the area yesterday to retrieve the unused building material.
He said Charles was in a desperate situation since he had nowhere to go but pointed out that officials at Verdun House would meet to discuss the best way forward for the young man since they wanted to help him get back on his feet.
