Goddess, a show of fine art photographer Risée Chaderton and painter Kraig Yearwood, which provides a stimulating mix of works on canvas and paper, starts today at the Aweipo Gallery, The Crane Village, The Crane, St Philip.
Both of these young and emerging artists have a fresh and unique approach to the Goddess theme.
Chaderton, in her first show, reinterprets several classical paintings with an Afro-Caribbean perspective – her images are sensually choreographed with the light seen in her portraits being used with beautiful effect.
Kraig Yearwood is little less of a stranger having had three solo exhibitions, and participated in several local group shows as well as exhibitions in Brussels, London and  Miami. His body of work is a vibrant combination of texture and colour with lace, barbed wire and found objects making up the canvas.
He explores themes of relationships, some from personal experiences, others from his observations.
Goddess can be viewed from today until?April 26, with an evening with the artists scheduled for Saturday, April 16. (SP)
