They asked for his return, and he delivered.
WE are speaking about hip hop giant, Fabolous, who tore up the town last weekend at Kensington Oval. It was his second show in Barbados, but several Barbadians who were travelling around the summer of 2009 missed his first gig. So they asked the promoters at Stunna Parris Entertainment for another chance – and he lived up to all expectations.
With a few more hits than he had two years ago, the Brooklyn, New York native, whose given name is John David Jackson, stunned his audience with energetic performances of You Be Killing Em, Throw It in the Bag, and Money Goes, Honey Stay (When the Money Goes remix), and several others.
Fabolous, 33, not only released a compilation album last year but has done numerous mixtapes and collaborations with artists such as DJ Clue, Jadakiss, Swizz Beatz and Ryan Leslie.
Opening for Fabolous was Barbadian rapper, Teff, who is also a promoter of some renown among young partygoers.
The large and appreciative crowd also got a taste of Stunna Entertainment’s fourth show on the island, since the crew had also showcased Rick Ross and Tyga along with the first Fabolous show in 2009.
The man behind the parties, Stunna, who specialises in promoting local and international hip hop artists, is also planning other shows for 2011, including a major act by year-end.
“But that’s a big secret,” Stunna told WE Magazine.
