Two Christ Church schools got a book boost today  when the United States Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean donated 92 books total to Milton Lynch Primary School and Deighton Griffith Secondary School.
Speaking at the presentation at Milton Lynch Primary, Embassy officer Kristin Mencer highlighted the legacy of the man the school was named for, educator Milton Lynch, saying that “as an educator in Barbados in the 1930s,  Lynch helped chart Barbados’ path of progress through education.”
Deputy Public Affairs Officer Joseph Schaller, who pmade the presentation at Deighton Griffith, also paid tribute to Barbados’ educational legacy and called the island “a small but bright beacon to the world when it comes to literacy and education.”
Both officers re-affirmed the Embassy’s support for education in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean region, noting that in the last three years, the Embassy has donated 2 399 books to schools, governmental agencies and community organizations in the seven nations it is accredited to. (PR)
