Individuals who hope to reside in the newly finished Government housing units at Tweedside Road and Country Road, St Michael, have been told they must pay the rent.
Prime Minister Fruendel Stuart made the comment after an extensive tour of the Stuart Lodge and Country Park Towers at Tweedside Road and Country Road respectively earlier today.
“If the [National Housing Corporation] is going to solve other problems by the construction of additional units, persons who are going to occupy these units are going to have to be prepared to pay the rents that are charged.”
The prime minister said it was pointless applying for the units and then refusing to pay after getting them.
