Nature lovers in Barbados today contributed to ‘A Billion Acts of Green’.
Led by the Future Centre Trust, the non-governmental body for all things relating to the environment, 25 volunteers gave of their time to play their part as Barbados and the world celebrated Earth Day 2011, the theme of which was ‘A Billion Acts of Green’.
Three groups, armed with shovels, gloves and a love for the environment fanned out around the historic Garrison Savannah to plant Mahogany, Frangipani, Black Pearl, palms, and Neem trees in an effort to restore the area to its once green and shady state.
