CASTRIES, St. Lucia –Police shot and killed four men in the southern town of Vieux Fort this morning, according to media reports here.
Initial reports said that five men from the capital, Castries, had travelled to Vieux Fort to “do a raid” when they were confronted by the law enforcement officials.
The fifth person remains in critical condition in hospital. The names of those killed and the injured man have not been disclosed.
Police Commissioner Vernon Francois and National Security Minister Guy Mayers are expected to brief the media on the situation. (CMC)
