Martin Nurse had his cake and ate it too yesterday,
Making a return to the Counter Point Wanderers team that has been relegated to the Upper Intermediate for the first time in the club’s long history, he flayed the J.O. Building Yorkshire bowlers in a beautiful knock of 189.
Playing at the Friendship ground in Hothersal Turning, St Michael, the prolific left-hander, who played for Banks last season, smashed 21 fours and 12 sixes in powering Wanderers to a first innings total of 312 for four.
He was supported by another “Prodigal Son”, Sean Armstrong, who hit an unbeaten 54, rejoining his team following stints with Banks, BCL and Dover.
Here, Nurse square-drives to the boundary.
