A?43-YEAR-OLD businessman escaped serious injury when his vehicle ran into an open trench along Spring Hall Road in St Lucy on Saturday night.
Mahmood Chothia, of Barbarees Hill, St Michael, said he was shaken by the incident that occurred around 7:18 p.m. but thanked those who came to his assistance.
He expressed concern that the trench on a very dark and lonely road had no proper lighting.
Personnel from the police station at Crab Hill, St Lucy, and the Weston Fire Station, St James, responded.
