Over the years, there have been complaints from residents in various parts of the island about the state of some of the roadways.
And while there have been reports of roads breaking and slipping away, one particular road in the rural Vaughan Road No. 1, St Joseph community has been sinking and cracking significantly.
The road in this community, according to resident Willma Cumberbatch, was on one level until about four years ago when it first showed signs of huge cracks and sinking. However, following the passage of Tropical Storm Tomas last October, that road worsened. Here, Cumberbatch makes her way along the warped road.
