On Thursday at approximately 7 p.m., a joint operation, led by the Drug Squad of the Royal Barbados Police Force and involving the Barbados Coast Guard, and elements of the Regional Security Service, off North Point, St Lucy, encountered a suspicious fishing boat, which was intercepted by the Coast Guard. This occurred about 300 metres from shore.
Nine polythene bags and five taped packages of cannabis weighing 606 pounds were seized and three Barbadian nationals held. They are now assisting with investigations. (PR)
