Joyful screams filled the air at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed on Sunday night as Ashley Murphy, 16, was announced queen at the 12th annual Miss Teen Barbados Universal pageant.
Wearing the sash of Miss Desmond’s Restaurant, Murphy, who also won Miss Punctuality, Most Disciplined Delegate and Best Performance Swimwear, will go on to represent Barbados in the Miss Teen Universal show, which will be held in Trinidad and Tobago.
Second place went to Janelle Defreitas, Miss Images Photo Studio. Defreitas also won Best Gown. Third place went to Adriana Bailey, Miss Black Opel. Bailey coped the prizes of Best Talent and Best Project. (NSH)
