Making God your choice

God has given man the choice between Heaven and Hell and it is up to man to decide where he will spend eternity.
Furthermore, eternity is a sure thing and people should not allow anyone or anything to prevent them from making the right choice to serve God.
Speaking on the theme Heaven or Hell, It’s Your Choice under a bright, starry sky last Wednesday night, Reverend Douglas Alleyne urged his listeners to “choose ye this day whom you will serve”.
His message was “broadcast” throughout the Sargeant’s Village and Warner’s Gardens districts in Christ Church, as part of the Smith Corner United Pentecostal Church’s seven-day crusade.
Following energetic praise and worship by the young and old, including mothers with their babies, many sat listening to the preached word. They included people in nearby homes and shops.
“The Devil is opposing you; decide now whom you are going to follow, for even in your sin you are still loved by God. He wants you. He wants to bring deliverance to your life. Choose Him,” Alleyne urged.
He said that despite their present situations, or what they had done in the past, God’s hand “is extended and waiting to deliver”.
According to Alleyne, “God wants to deliver you, but you must make the first step of faith.”
He added, “God is waiting to bring somebody out of sin, but you’re shacking up and the young man pays the bills. We serve a God who will make a way for you. There is room at the Cross for you.”
He said that to love the world and the things of the world was one way of serving the Devil.
“Too many people are hooked on technology, sex, wine, alcohol and pleasure . . . ,” he charged.
“There will always be a craving for more. The Devil knows how to pervert and twist truth, but there are absolutes, there are rights and wrongs.”
Alleyne, one of six preachers during the crusade, said the Devil makes the wrong seem right as he “masquerades as an angel of light”.
“The Devil is good at pretending, but everything that glitters is not gold. Remember it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment . . .,” he remarked. “The world is tugging at your heart and many of you have already made your plans, but you do not have the slightest clue how long you will live. Life is uncertain, but death is sure and God admonishes us to live each day as if it was our last. Will you choose Heaven or Hell?”
As the worship team sang “There Is Room at the Cross for You”, Alleyne advised: “Don’t allow your friends on the block to determine your destiny. If you live without Christ, you will die without Him. Choose God today.”
