BET on Rihanna video

BET Networks has issued a statement clarifying its decision to air Rihanna’s Man Down video which has sparked  a lot of debate since its launch on Tueday.
“BET Networks has a comprehensive set of standards and guidelines that are applied to all of our content. The Rihanna “Man Down” video complied with these guidelines and was approved for air. At the same time, it is clear that the “Man Down” video has sparked a passionate dialogue and we will continue this conversation with our audience on “106 & Park.”
Some local and international groups have already come out against the violent content in the video.
The video, parts of which were shot in Jamaica, opens with Rihanna using a small revolver to shoot a man. The viewers see a graphic view of the man with a pool of blood streaming near his head. It then flashes back to the previous day, when she was sexually attacked. The video ends with Rihanna holding a gun in her hand. (CM)
