BFA: No bribes

THE?TWO?BARBADOS Football Association (BFA) delegates to last month’s Caribbean Football Union (CFU)?meeting weren’t offered any bribes by suspended Asian soccer chief Mohamed Bin Hamman!
That was made clear yesterday by BFA president Ronald Jones in the first official statement from the long-standing local football chief since the eruption of a FIFA?bribery scandal which has resulted in the provisional suspension of Bin Hamman and out-spoken former CONCACAF?head and FIFA?vice-president Austin “Jack” Warner.
And BFA general secretary David Hinds, who attended the CFU?meeting in Trinidad and Tobago along with former long-serving FIFA?referee Mark “Bob” Forde, has not gone to Miami to any FIFA?bribery investigation being conducted by former FBI?head Louis Freeh.
When reached late yesterday evening, Hinds told NATION?SPORT he was actually in the twin-island republic where he had returned for another meeting but declined to disclose its nature.
He said he would return home today instead of travelling to Miami where a number of Caribbean federations have been summoned to attend interviews. (ES)
