Bajans taking care of health

BARBADIANS are responding to the various sensitization efforts on chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCD).
According to Professor Trevor Hassell, who chairs the Healthy Caribbean Coalition, anecdotal evidence suggests that Barbadians are taking responsibility for their health.
From his own observation, Hassell said more people were going to the beach for various forms of physical activity and the public service announcements had been effective and were impacting on his patients.
Hassell was speaking to the Press today after a briefing to give an update on the management of CNCD and the United Nations (UN) High Level Meeting on CNCD slated for September at UN headquarters in New York.
He was speaking to results and strides being made as it related to changes in lifestyles, or statistics coming out of the programmes focusing on CNCD over the years.
