The world’s biggest footballing names were here.
And Barbadians rushed to see them, even if they don’t grace the world’s most popular stadiums anymore.
In just two nights, the popularity of the English Premier League and its players saw huge crowds at Kensington Oval for the inaugural British Airways Football Legends Invitational Tournament.
The former stars didn’t disappoint.
And not surprisingly, the fans of Manchester United were the ones who left the Oval smiling.
The Red Devils survived some tough matches, but turned it on when they needed to most to beat arch-rivals Chelsea in the championship match.
The fact that some regional celebrities were in the match-day mix also made the event a super attraction, as former West Indies cricket captain Brian Lara and his sidekick Dwight York, a former star with Manchester United, also graced the pitch over the weekend.
