SEVERAL?BARBADIANS?have been trying to get their monies back from a developer who was advertising land and house packages at Hothersal Turning, St Michael, which never materialized.
But Vernon Price, managing director of the company JaeShaun Inc., told the SUNDAY?SUN that his bank had reneged on the project and the deal to build the houses at the development called Hothersal Haven fell through.
He stated that he had made complaints to Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite and Prime Minister Freundel Stuart about the matter and that he had also made a formal complaint to authorities at the Central Bank so that the matter could be investigated.
One of the affected clients, a young woman, who deposited $5 000 back in 2009 to purchase a house and land package valued at $345 760 said that up to this day Price had not been able to refund her the money, even though he had made several promises to do so. Frustrated, she demanded a refund.
While Price admitted that he had promised to refund this client, he lamented that he had no money to give to her and some others who had also made deposits.
