JAMAICA’S PRIME MINISTER Bruce Golding is staying away from the Shanique Myrie issue – at least for the time being.
Speaking to the SUNDAY SUN yesterday during a break at the CARICOM Heads Of Government Summit here in St Kitts, Golding said his Minister of Foreign Affairs Ken Baugh was still looking into the matter.
“It’s now at the level of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and in the hands of attorneys for Miss Myrie, and because of that I won’t want to comment,” he said.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart said afterwards that the matter was not before the St Kitts meeting and that communication was still being passed between the governments of Jamaica and Barbados. He said Barbados had recently received a letter from then Attorney General Dorothy Lightbourne, but that there were no new developments. (TS)
