Gross miscommunication and non-information.
That is how Alvin Toppin summed up the recent issue surrounding the issuing of entertainment licences required for promoters to hold events.
Topin, a radio DJ, was speaking last night at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed where promoters met with officials from the National Cultural Foundation, the VAT and Town Planning departments, as well as police and fire.
Toppin, who said he was there as a representative of “soca” said a solution needed to be reached soon.
He suggested that a document be compiled clearly outlining all rules and requirements for promoters to follow and have it placed at a central location for easy access.
Chairperson of the NCF Monique Taitt agreed that information needed to be accessible.
“Going forward the NCF will be ensuring that information is disseminated to stakeholders in a clear and concise and timely way” she said. (CM)
