Police make arrests after drug ops

Seven people have been arrested after a joint drug operation yesterday in Sherman’s, St Peter.
Police officials confirmed that the operation conducted by the Drug Squad, RSS and the Coast Guard, resulted in the arrest of five Barbadians and two St Lucians as well as the seizure of a 25-foot boat.
The operation netted seven bags of vegetable matter, suspected to be cannibis, as well as a haversack with 22 pounds of a substance believed to be cocaine.
Police also reported another operation yesterday evening at Cluffs, St Lucy, involving the RSS, Drug Squad, Coast Guard and the Anti-Gun Unit. As a result, a Barbadian and a Vincentian have been arrested. The operation netted 14 bags of cannibis, 837 pounds in weight.
