WI opens batting

ROSEAU – The historic inaugural Test in Dominica started in bright sun light with India winning the toss and sending the West Indies in to bat on the opening day of the third and final match of the Digicel cricket series here today.
The West Indies gave maiden Test caps to left-handed Nevisian opener Kieran Powell and Barbadian right-handed middle order batsman Kirk Edwards.
India replaced Munaf Patel at the expense of fellow fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun as the only change to their team from the drawn second Barbados Test.
Experienced middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is playing his 133rd Test, overtaking legendary fast bowler Courtney Walsh to be the West Indies’ most capped Test cricketer.
India lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Jamaica by 63 runs.
