Bag for Sweet Soca

THE THIRD TIME proved to be the lucky charm for Stedson Red Plastic Bag Wiltshire.
The nine-time calypso king has been named among the eight finalists to challenge Terencia TC Coward for the Sweet Soca title she has captured on two consecutive years.
It is the first time since the competition started in 2009 that the raga soca champion has been selected by the judging panel for the finals. He will be trying to win the crown and drive home the prized Kia, which is also up for grabs, with the popular Once Upon A Wine.
Something Is Happening, which helped him to the 2009 calypso title, did not make it past the judges’ room and La La was not a favourite in the texting round and did not advance to Bushy Park last year. (YB)
