THE?MINISTRY OF Health and the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) will meet again on August 31 to further cement an understanding on how to solve any developing problems.
This was the main result of a meeting between Minister of Health Donville Inniss and BAMP’s representatives yesterday. Both the minister and BAMP president Dr Carlos Chase said the meeting was cordial.
“We didn’t get into any major details with BAMP and the hospital [but] my position was that the main purpose of the meeting was to bring all parties together and to have a commitment on working together to resolve whatever issues there may be,” Inniss said.
“The meeting concluded with a commitment on both sides to exchange correspondence over the next seven days and to have a meeting no later than August 31 between BAMP and the QEH to resolve their issues – and they are not really major issues from what I’ve been noting,” he added.
The minister said issues involving the Ministry of Health related to outstanding matters of contracts and gratuity.
