The 2011/2012 budget is only about a month away.
And at least two of Barbados’ prominent business personalities have suggested that great attention be paid to special areas to help drive the economy.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) president Andy Armstrong and former Barbados Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) head Ian Pickup said it was important that as the island battled the current hostile economic climate that the Government did not only focus on tourism.
Urging Barbadians to buy more local products, Pickup said he believed manufacturing and agriculture were two other sectors that could play a greater role in driving the economy. (MM)
