REDjet cleared for Jamaica

LOW-COST CARRIER REDjet can now fly into Jamaica.
The announcement was made yesterday by Jamaica’s Transport and Works Minister Mike Henry who said approval was granted following a series of meetings with regulatory authorities late last week.
The clearance came just 48 hours after Trinidad and Tobago granted REDjet a licence to land at Piarco International Airport, following closed door talks between Trinidad and Tobago’s Civil Aviation Authority and Airone Ventures, parent body of the carrier.
REDjet’s management declined to comment on the latest development but announced a Press conference scheduled for today at Grantley Adams International Airport’s (GAIA) training room. (TS)
