THE RACE is on to see who will be crowned Junior Calypso Monarchs for 2011.
This year the competition is back at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex following objections from stakeholders to the show being held at the National Stadium last year.
People are steadily streaming in as the junior monarch from Trinidad Aaron Duncan is thrilling patrons with his rich voice.
Ric-Anne Candy Princess Brathwaite will get the competition underway in the eight to 12 category. A new monarch will be crowned in this category, while Aziza Lil Az Clarke will be defending her title against eight challengers.
