Keefe Birkett had a game-high 19 points and Premier League basketball title contenders Lumber Company Lakers held Police to just two first-quarter points in a 69-46 rout of the Intermediate side in Thursday’s first-round knockout action at the YMCA.
The win assured Lakers of avoiding the fate of Cavs and Senators, who suffered first-round defeats to fellow top flight clubs Pinelands and Tridents, respectively. (JM)
