ALL WILL BE set for the MQI 98.1 The One Soca Royale today.
Yesterday, when a SUNDAY SUN team visited Bushy Park, St Philip, where the competition will be held, various groups were putting on the finishing touches but all who spoke gave the assurance everything would be in place come showtime.
For the past three days, the Barbados Water Authority was running pipes to each tent while A&B Music Supplies was tweaking the sound system.
“Everything is going great. It’s a lot of work; we’ve been at this since last week, but it sounds like it will be all right. I just hope everybody else thinks so tomorrow [today],” said managing director Norman Barrow.
On stage, Dance Machine and Family were going through their moves. Dance choreographer and producer Matthew Pilgrim said they were working with four artistes in the competition.
National Cultural Foundation corporate communications specialist Wayne Simmons said he was “definitely” happy with the level of preparedness.
