LIME rain check

Controversy?has again encircled the annual LIME Under-15 cricket competition.
Heavy rain washed out play in the semi-final match between Combermere and Foundation on Wednesday leaving the outfield at St Leonard’s very soggy.
But when the umpires called play at 3 p.m. yesterday for a resumption of the match which began on Tuesday, following mopping up operations by the groundstaff and Combermere players, Foundation refused to continue their first innings, citing unfit and unsafe conditions.
Here, members of the Foundation team getting ready to leave the St Leonard’s School yesterday after officials from their school, decided against continuing their first innings against Combermere in the semi-final of the LIME Under-15 cricket competition because of what they felt were unsafe conditions.
