BARBADOS MAY STILL be under a flood warning.
A weather bulletin was issued today at 5 p.m from the Barbados Meteorological Services stating a flood watch was in effect until 6 a.m tomorrow morning. This was late upgraded this evening to a warning.
The bulletin reads as follows: “The unsettled conditions associated with a broad area of low pressure have been generating cloudy to overcast skies, periods of moderate to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across the island during the day.
“Analysis suggests that these conditions will continue to affect the island during the night. Due to the already saturated conditions any additional rainfall will increase the threat of flooding. Residents in flood prone areas should exercise caution and remain on the alert.”
When contacted, a representative from the office said the upgrade was made due to reports from the public which indicated flooding had already taken place in Edgecombe and Woodbourne, St Philip and Vaux Hall, St Michael.
He said the island was also under a small craft warning until tomorrow.
