Edwin Yearwood lived up to his “General” ranking yesterday when he took control of the road on a day when a wide range of songs vied for Tune Of The Crop from Warrens to Spring Garden.
With his infectious Cova De Road, which was played a winning seven times at judging points, Edwin won his sixth Tune Of The Crop title to salvage a victory from Crop Over 2011 after placing third in the Party Monarch and Sweet Soca competitions.
Tying close behind Edwin were Rupee, with I Am A Bajan, which also copped last Friday’s People’s Monarch, and Mr Dale’s Wow. Both were played six times.
Other popular numbers on the Grand Kadooment route included Li’l Rick’s massive hits Jones And Wuk Up, Work and Crazy People, Mikey’s Pavement Anticipation, Biggie Irie’s Cahn Be Ova, as well as several uptempo songs from last year.
