There was a last minute rush yesterday for tickets for Rihanna’s LOUD concert at Kensington Oval tonight.
Inquiries flooded social network sites like Facebook as well as Blackberry Instant messenger, from people in dire need of tickets for the show which starts at 7:30 p.m..
There were requests for tickets for the grounds, the 3Ws stand as well as the VIP section.
Rumours that some of the big names in music were here, like Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye West and Eminem, apparently intensified the push for tickets, even though they were said to be sold out days ago.
One woman said because of the hype surrounding the show which has attracted 25 000, she was now scouting for a ticket but was so far unsuccessful.
Another said that while initially she was not really interested in attending the concert, she was now caught up in the excitement and wished she could attend.
One woman who had already secured two VIP tickets was last night still looking for two more. She succeeded in getting one.
Scalpers were reportedly doing a brisk trade. As a result of demand, they were jacking up prices by two hundred to three hundred dollars on top of the original price.
