Under-19 champs

GEORGETOWN – SET UP by a four-wicket haul from part-time off-spinner Anthony Alleyne and guided by an undefeated 84 from captain Kraigg Brathwaite, Barbados crushed three-day champions Jamaica by nine wickets in their opening round match of the WICB Regional Under-19 One-Day Championship at the Guyana National Stadium today.
Alleyne took four for 23 to restrict Jamaica to 155 for nine in their 50 overs and in response, the right-handed Brathwaite led from the front, striking six fours in his 123-ball innings. He shared an unbroken match-winning second-wicket partnership of 122 runs with Shai Hope, who made 47 not out off 90 balls with three fours.
