NINE?WORKERS at the Probation Department reported sick yesterday and the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) thinks it is as a result of a high level of “frustration and stress” at the Roebuck Street office.
NUPW?general secretary  Denis Clarke told the MIDWEEK?NATION that there was unease in the department after some employees, who were acting in senior positions for several years, were reverted to community officers.
“It’s an untenable situation. Staff morale is low,” Clarke said.
He said that some employees, who had been acting for between three and six years, as a result had taken out car loans and were now struggling to pay them. (MK)
