Government will construct a centre for the performing arts, and has called on radio stations to play no less than 60 per cent of local music, while it pledged $50 million to promote, market and distribute local entertainers’ products and servicesfrom next year.
Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler said the multi-purpose, state-of-the-art Cultural and Performing Arts Centre would be financed and constructed through a grant from the government of the People’s Republic of China, and located at Spring Garden opposite the Brandons Beach facility once given Town Planning approval.
