Dear Christine,
I would like to use your column in my bid to find a job.
I am 23 years old and a recent graduate of the Barbados Community College, where I studied nursing.
I was due to enter my second semester in September, but circumstances beyond my control have prevented me from doing so.
My mother was paying for my tuition while I was a student, but as a result of an accident, she has been away from work for over a year.
She is now facing some financial difficulties and cannot afford to pay my tuition. As a result, I am forced to drop out of college this year but hope to return next year.
I am appealing to your readers, through this column, for a job to help me as well as my mother.
I am a very hard-working person and a quick learner. I would like a job – perhaps working at a nursing home, a doctor’s office, as a receptionist, or a nursing assistant. I also have experience working at nursery homes, as a customer service representative and a cashier.
I have qualifications, but I am willing to do any honest work that is available.
Thank you for your help.
– K
Dear K,
I commend you highly for your desire to help both yourself and your mum.
It is really sad that you cannot continue your studies this coming school year because of the current financial situation in which your mum has found herself.
I hope that by publishing your letter you’ll be successful in getting a much needed job.
Don’t give up hope. I am sure that a door will open at the right place and the right time.
– CHRISTINE
