First it was a fire; now the stench is back.
After a few years of living with slight comfort as a result of the smells from the Mangrove Landfill, residents of Arch Hall and Bennetts, St Thomas, are once again holding their noses and shutting up their houses tight.
In a letter to the DAILY NATION, residents said they had made repeated reports to those managing the landfill, some of whom “have been very appreciative of our concerns, but obviously enough is not being done or rather nothing is being done”.
“Those in authority obviously don’t care about us and the awful odours we have to endure on a daily basis,” the letter continued.
