At least 13 principals and three deputies took up assignments at schools across the island when the 2011 – 2012 school year got under way yesterday.
The new appointees at both the primary and secondary levels reported for work in spruced up facilities in many instances. Government spent more than $1 million upgrading 23 school as part of the 2011 summer domestic programme.
A full list of names for the new appointees and their schools has not yet been released by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development; however, some of the names are known.
The list of the known new principals is as follows: Thelma Berry – Angela Chaplain; Maria Holder – Shelley Holder; Welches Primary – Janet Wharton; Charles F. Broome – Louis Griffith; Luther Thorne Memorial – Grace Wickham; St Bartholomew’s Primary – Colleen Phillips; Erdiston Special Unit – Kaye Sargeant; Erdiston Nursery – Marvaline Chadderton; Boscobelle Primary – Cynthia Robinson; St Lucy Primary – Anderson Jordan; St Lucy Secondary – Stephen Brathwaite; Milton Lynch – Anthony Graham, and Deighton Griffith Secondary – Cheryll Moseley.
