Nurses want more security

Thieves are creating major headaches for nurses working at some of this island’s polyclinics.
Describing the situation at the Winston Scott Polyclinic as particularly worrisome, nurses have demanded that they be provided with increased security immediately.
President of the Barbados Nurses Association, Blondelle Mullin, said last night: “You come to work looking after the people of Barbados, and while you are in there looking after the health of the people, your possessions are being stolen or damaged. We want security at these polyclinics, especially the ones that are open late.”
Her comments followed an incident at the Winston Scott Polyclinic yesterday in which someone broke the left side front window of public health nurse Lavonne Patrick Bacchus’ car parked on the compound.
